Waanderlust Project | Thursday, August 19, 2010

Errands and unrelated administrative work took up more time during the day than I'd anticipated, but I had plenty of time to continue the preparations inside the cabin.  To begin, I washed yesterday's epoxy, then sanded the areas as needed.

I continued with additional sanding and stripping preparations in the main cabin, removing varnish from additional trim pieces adjacent to the cabin trunk and/or overhead, and sanding the overhead and main bulkheads with additional grits to continue their prep process, as well as taking care of edge and corner sanding that I'd left during the initial paint stripping efforts earlier.  I prepared a number of old fastener holes in the overhead and bulkheads for filling by overboring them slightly with a countersink.

After cleaning up, I applied a second coat of epoxy filler to those areas required, and a first coat to the newly-prepared fastener holes.
