I spent much of the morning making final pre-core preparations:  cutting and fitting the new core from the patterns I made earlier; taping over any fastener holes from beneath to prevent resin from passing through; cutting and fitting smaller bits of core into the under-deck flanges around the edges as needed; installing some simple bracing below decks as needed to hold the deck shape (particularly on the foredeck); and finally, a thorough solvent wash of all areas.

With preparations complete, I installed all the core in thickened epoxy adhesive, filling the voids beneath the deck (as applicable) with the small bits of core and additional epoxy and eventually weighting down the new core with sandbags and other items as needed to ensure the cure was pressed tightly into the adhesive.
