Summer Song |
Tuesday, November 29, 2011 I had an appointment away from the shop during the morning, but upon my return I decided to focus on preparing for and applying the first cost of varnish to the brightwork; since I didn't know how long a coat would take, and wanted to be sure to get the process started, I spent only a little time on some hardware-related tasks first, beginning by organizing the hardware along with the new fasteners required for each piece. |
Later, I installed the bronze instrument bezels and compass, which were simple installations but got the process underway. I'd work on installing the remaining deck hardware over the next several days. |
|
To round out the afternoon, I applied the first sealer coat of varnish to all the brightwork. I'd continue with a coat a day until I had the buildup desired. |
