Thursday, September 6, 2012 After washing and lightly sanding the new fiberglass securing the forward tank cleats, I test-fit the tank to ensure the cleats worked as designed. Then, after cleaning up, I coated the new epoxy with epoxy-based primer to act as a tie coat; I wanted to complete the paint in this locker and install the tank soon, without waiting a few weeks for the epoxy to cure past the point where it would negatively affect the curing of the bilge paint. The tie-coat would allow recoating in a day. |
With that complete, I continued work on the beadboard in the main cabin, and completed both remaining bulkheads--the forward faces of the galley and nav station. This would enable me to get to work on the settee backrests and cabinets in the near future. |

With just a bit of time left in the day, I lightly sanded and varnished the main cabin trunk trim, and also repainted the overhead/liner edges that I'd been working on. |
