Wednesday, September 5, 2012 Continuing with the forward water tank installation, I prepared the new wooden cleat blanks I glued up earlier, then epoxied them in place in their appropriate positions with fillets, then biaxial tabbing on each side. I left a space in the after cleat to allow the tank supply valve to pass through. |
With some new fittings on hand, I installed the vents on the two settee water tanks, completing work here till it was time to attach hoses. |
Afterwards, I continued work on the beadboard, eventually completing the large port forward bulkhead. |
Now that the beadboard was in place, I could install the final piece of corner trim for the cabin trunk. After installation, I masked it off and applied a sealer coat of varnish to bring it up to par with the remaining trim, which had one coat of varnish. I wanted to complete the varnish on the cabin trunk trim so I could unmask and be ready to prime and paint the cabin sides in the near future. |
In between other tasks, I applied the first coat of semi-gloss enamel to the edges and corners of the bulkheads where I'd previously primed, continuing that process. |
Finally, I had enough time to begin the layout and initial installation of the next round of beadboard, this time on the forward side of the nav station bulkhead. I'd continue with this next time. |
