After picking up a new battery, I completed the hookup to check the operation of the various (minimal) systems on board. Unsure of the purpose of a couple of the wires in the compartment (some old labels had been on there earlier, but they were deteriorated and unreadable), I had to trace them out to determine whether they were negatives (they were) or positive leads, after which I could connect them properly.
