Kaholee Refit | Phase II Punch List (as of 4/21/07)

There's plenty of work left to do on Kaholee.  Here is at least a partial listing of the work remaining.

  • Complete miscellaneous interior trim (see specifics below)
  • Mill and install teak cabin sole with black epoxy "caulk" joints
  • Complete work on engine box and surrounding area
  • Refinish companionway ladder
  • Install latch on engine instrument panel cover
  • Complete and install fiberglass holding tank and associated plumbing
  • Install Lavac marine toilet
  • Install electric water pump, accumulator tank, and potable water plumbing
  • Install bilge pumps
  • Install faucets at galley sink (2--one for potable and manual hand pump for salt)
  • Install entire electrical system--batteries to wiring to panels, AC and DC systems
  • Install electronics
  • Install Beta Marine BD 722 diesel engine and engine controls
  • Install fuel, exhaust, and raw water systems for the engine
  • Order and install new shafting and propeller
  • Complete construction of, varnish, and install cockpit coamings
  • Install handrails--exterior and interior
  • Install electric anchor windlass
  • Install previously-constructed anchor platform and rollers
  • Install traveler, genoa tracks, and other sailing hardware
  • Install bronze winch stands and sheet winches
  • Install mooring cleats and hardware
  • Install cockpit shower connection
  • Install 30 amp shore power receptacle
  • Install boarding ladder brackets
  • Order and install lifelines (double)
  • Install radar pole and solar panel mount; hire out welding as required
  • Inspect rigging and mast to determine course of action
  • Paint bottom
  • Remove old registration numbers
  • Have dodger, bimini, and other canvas made as required

Allowing for the likelihood that some of the trimwork and other can and will be completed during off-times between other major projects during the weeks ahead, I anticipate that the list above will require about one months' shop time, to be completed in and around the engine installation.

The photos below show some of the specific areas in the cabin that still require a piece of trim, a locker door, or are awaiting cabinet construction entirely.
