Bolero
Project |
November 21, 2007 Before pressing onwards with construction and preparation, it seemed that the long weekend around Thanksgiving was the perfect time to let the mockup sink in, and to mull over any possible changes or execution details. So with little of great importance to do on the project and no plans to get started on the next stages before next week, I spent most of the day involved in other projects at the shop. I had hoped to move Bolero outdoors briefly so that we could get a better and more distant view of the cabin trunk mockup. But with only a low-resolution camera on hand while I awaited a new one, it didn't make sense to do the move until the new one arrived. And arrive it did, but by that time of the afternoon it was already dark outside. I hoped to do it in the morning. I prepared the boat for the quick move by removing some of the clutter from the deck (tools, etc.) and partially dismantling the staging so that I could get the trailer out. Meanwhile, I did make a slight change to the position of the after ports on the mockup. I hadn't been happy with the initial position, and decided to make a change by striking a straight line between the vertical midpoints of the forward and after ends of the cabin trunk, and align both ports' horizontal centerlines with the new line. This would effectively place both ports in the vertical center of the cabin trunk; the forward ports were already in this location as a matter of chance. I thought the change made an important difference in the appearance. |
