Today's work was limited in scope thanks to some other commitments, but I managed to sand the prime coat and apply a coat of semi-gloss white paint to the overhead (under deck) in the cabin.  One more coat ought to finish this up.

Afterwards, I glued four mahogany boards together with epoxy to create a panel that I'd eventually use for the aft deck hatch.  In a related process, I began to install a wooden "gutter" (I'm blanking on what to actually call this) inside the after hatch opening, over which the raised wooden hatch would fit.  From stock that I'd rough-cut the other day, I prepared the sides of the opening  as needed and epoxied them in place.

I hadn't intended to split this process into two parts, but as it happened I epoxied the two longitudinal pieces in place and held them with clamps run to the gunwale of the boat.  The clamps happened to end up in the way of cutting and fitting the two athwartships sections, so I ended up leaving this job half-completed, as otherwise I'd have needed to add fasteners  to secure the strips if  were to remove the clamps.

Finally, I prepared a few inconsequential bits of stock for future use.

Total Time on This Job Today:  3.25 hours
