The first order of business was to apply primer to the newly-recored patches on deck.  Before the weekend, I'd applied a test patch to ensure that the primer would properly cure, which occasionally is a problem with certain paints over epoxy, but fortunately the primer cured properly, so I was able to proceed.

While waiting for the primer to dry overnight, I took the two cans of KiwiGrip white paint to a local paint store, where I had them tinted to match a beige color selected by the owner.  The 4-litre cans were slightly larger than standard gallon paint cans, and wouldn't fit in the paint store's paint shaker, so back at the shop I spent about 30 minutes thoroughly mixing in the tinting agents to blend the paint to the intended color.
