Waanderlust Project--Phase III | Friday, October 7, 2011

It was the final day of the project for now.  Before moving the boat outdoors, I reinstalled the companionway hatch, and slid in the drop boards.  I discovered that when I varnished the boards, I'd made a mistake as to which side was which, so it ended up that the exterior side featured satin varnish, while the interior side was finished with gloss.  This wouldn't pose a problem for the moment, but I'd redo the exterior side later.

Afterwards, I moved the boat outdoors for storage.  I included some photos from early 2010, when work first began on the boat.  It was nice to see her more or less whole again, with only a few details remaining.

Later, I installed the framework for the cover, and planned to install the cover in the immediate future.

With the boat in the same spot as when she first arrived here in fall 2009, I couldn't help posting a similarly-composed comparison photo.
