Since the handrails had come down to bare wood during sanding, I planned to apply Cetol's recommended three full coats, so with a bit of spare time on hand over the weekend I went ahead and applied a second coat to the rails, which would mean I could finish up this portion of the exterior brightwork early in the week and advance the schedule that much more quickly.
