Now that the basic modifications to the quarterberth were complete, I asked Jason, my upholstery contractor, to return and pattern for the canvas screen that would cover the area.  The cover would slide into a track installed along the bottom edge, and be secured as needed elsewhere once complete.  Afterwards, I applied a second coat of semi-gloss enamel to the bulkhead face.

Later in the day, with new hardware on hand, I started pre-installation steps for the anchor chain tensioner, which I'd determined was necessary to help hold the anchor securely.  After determining generally where it should go, I overdrilled the fastener locations with a 1/2" bit to remove the top skin and core, then filled the voids with thickened epoxy.  Because I was doing the work outdoors now, I covered the area with some plastic for protection while the epoxy cured overnight.
