Another short day thanks to other goings on and appointments.  The new locker lids and sample laminate piece had cured overnight, so I removed the sample from the mold (it came away with appropriate ease) and trimmed the edges so I could use it to determine whether or not I needed additional layers of fiberglass on any of the hatches for a flush fit on the locker openings.  The three layers were about 3/16" in total thickness as anticipated.

The sample piece was a near perfect thickness for the icebox hatch and starboard locker lid.

The lazarette hatch opening and gutter had originally been designed for a somewhat thicker wooden hatch.  The sample piece was quite a bit too thin here, and I determined the hatch needed to be double its current thickness in order to sit flush.

After prepping the existing laminate (I left all three of the new lids on the mold for now, not wanting the still-green epoxy to change shape at all), I applied two additional layers of fiberglass to the lazarette hatch; later, when I installed core in the center portion, I'd run the third layer over the core and all the way to the edges to make up the desired edge  thickness.

I continued preparations inside the boat for bulkhead tabbing.  I peeled away one last section of tabbing that had been on the port main bulkhead, and prepared this and other bulkheads for the new work, including taping over the back sides of the gaps between bulkhead and hull/deck so that I could install epoxy fillets from one side without the material all spilling out the back.  I also liked to tape around the areas where I'd be installing tabbing for a neater end result.

I spent what was left of the day cutting new fiberglass tabbing to size for the various bulkhead sections.
