Removing the plastic and weights, I exposed the newly installed core, and checked all areas to ensure that the core had adhered properly.

I prepared the remaining surface, which I'd skim-coated with epoxy yesterday, for its new core with the usual steps of washing and light sanding, and test-fit all the pieces to ensure they'd still fit properly, while cutting out some of the core around the two Dorade vent holes to ensure a solid fiberglass boundary between these openings and the core.

I installed the remaining core in epoxy adhesive, as before, covered it with plastic and weighted it down thoroughly.

There wasn't much more I could do at this point while I waited for the epoxy to cure, but with the aftermost section (where the old exhaust vent stack had been) by itself and available for the next steps, I prepared two layers of fiberglass and laminated them in place with epoxy resin.  I thought there was a good chance I'd need (and install) a third layer later, to make up the final thickness, but I'd take care of that separately if I determined it was necessary.  In any event, this small patch would also serve as a sort of test bed for the remaining areas in terms of the amount of new glass required to bring the new material even with the existing.
