Once again, I lightly sanded the new paint on the overhead liner and cabin trunk, this time with 320 grit paper, to prepare it for the next coat of semi-gloss enamel.  Afterwards, I did the usual cleanup chores.

Before proceeding with the painting, I switched projects and worked further on the settee locker doors, which would be upholstered.    To help hold the solid locker door inserts in place for the next steps, I temporarily glued some scrap plywood strips in place inside the cabinets, which would let me place the cherry locker doors in the openings in order to install the hinges, which was the first task.

The larger plywood panels, slated to be covered in upholstery and cushioning, covered the hinges when held in place and overlapped the opening by an inch on the top three sides.

Once I'd installed all the hinges, I removed the doors and, down on the bench, installed the outer plywood panel, which overlapped the locker door openings and would receive the foam and upholstery.  To secure the panels together, I installed threaded stainless steel inserts in the outer panel, and used 1/8" thick spacers between the two sections of the door to leave room for the fabric in the finished product.  This was a straightforward process, and completed the work on the locker doors before I sent them to the upholsterer for finishing.

Later, I applied a second coat of semi-gloss white enamel to the areas in the cabin.
