Sailmaster 131 | Thursday, August 22, 2013

It didn't take long, first thing, to lightly sand the few areas to which I'd applied fairing compound earlier; this wrapped up this stage of hull preparation.  Then, for better access to the decks for the repair and other work ahead, I set up staging at a comfortable height all around the boat.

Next, I sanded the cockpit coamings (both sides and the after piece) with 80-120-220 grit paper to clean and smooth the surface as much as possible, and prepare the wood for its new finish.

Later, I hand-sanded the toerails and taffrail with 80-120-220 to prepare the wood for its finish later in the project.
