30, 2007 I went to work this morning on the deck once more, expecting to sand the resin patches from yesterday. I washed them all to remove any traces of amine blush, and while the resin was cured, it was also clear that it was still a bit soft. I feared that it might not be ready for sanding, but nonetheless I gave it a try--first with 220 (my desired grit), then with 180, and, finally just to be sure, with 120. With all three grits, the sanding disc became immediately clogged, signaling that the epoxy simply wasn't cured sufficiently for sanding. This effectively ended my day. Rather than fight the sanding or try and refocus on some part of the project that really isn't underway yet, I chose to take care of a never-ending list of administrative and other tasks today. Better luck tomorrow! |
