February 28, 2007 Today was a pretty short day in the shop, as I had a big project to finish up at the house and needed the afternoon available for that. This morning, I began by sanding the fairing compound over the patched through hulls. I coarse-sanded with 40 grit, then finished up with 80 grit on a finish sander to ensure that the patches were smooth and fair. I was pleased that a single coat of fairing compound had take care of the fairing, with no need for additional layers. |
Next, I sanded yesterday's primer in the v-berth and head, then vacuumed and cleaned the area. Then, I applied the first finish coat of semi-gloss white enamel to these areas. This pretty much wrapped up the day's work on the boat. |
