February 2, 2007 I finished up the taping this morning, and made final preparations for spraying the high-build primer. I had hoped to apply the primer today, but it became clear that I'd be rushing things to push ahead with the spraying today, particularly since it ended up taking most of the morning to accumulate the things needed. I hadn't used my spray equipment since moving the shop nearly a year ago, and I couldn't even remember at first where the hose was. I eventually found it, then changed the filters in the spray turbine, collected paint, mixing pots, cleaned and readied my mask, and so forth. When you don't paint like this every day, getting set up can be a big job. So, rather than rush through things and try to apply the paint late in the day today, I decided it would be better to relax, get properly set up, and spray the paint tomorrow morning instead. Since I knew I'd be looking at about 4 hours' worth of painting, all told, it'd be far better to approach it first thing in the morning. The boat didn't look any different after today's work than she did yesterday, so I didn't take any pictures. |
