Kaholee Refit | December 7, 2006 With a large amount of deck work coming up, I decided to use this warm day outside to reposition the boat in the shop. When I moved the boat inside back in April for storage, I placed her as close to the wall as possible. However, I needed to set up some staging around the boat, and she was too close to the wall for this. Moving the boat sounds like an easy task--and it is, for all that--but it was time consuming. I had to move a lot of accumulated gear and scrap lumber, shop supplies, etc. from around the trailer, then move two other boats and a trailer that were parked in front of the door, then hook up my truck, move the boat out, clean up beneath where the trailer had been, and then carefully reposition the boat and trailer inside, ensuring that she ended up where I wanted. In the end, I moved her out about 3' from the wall, leaving her close enough to conveniently build staging on that side, but far enough so that I wouldn't be squeezed between the wall and boat while working. |
