Iota Refit | Monday, February 25, 2008

Today, I moved Iota to the other side of the shop and got her settled in the new area.  With the major and dirty work done, I needed the clean bay for work on another boat, and could finish up Iota's work in the other bay.

Moving the boat provided an opportunity to see her outside and from a distance for the first time.  Before making the switch, I applied some bottom paint to the area beneath the new boottop, to patch in the area I'd sanded during the initial hull preparations.  I thought the color would match the existing bottom paint better than it clearly does, though it should lighten in the water.

With the boat back inside, I spent the afternoon taping off the deck for the nonskid, which I planned to begin applying the next day.
