Iota Refit |
December 27, 2007 I spent the day removing most of the remaining deck hardware from the after half of the boat, picking up where I left off a while ago. I removed the remaining stanchions and stern pulpit, cockpit coamings and winch bases, mast step and related wiring connectors, stern cleats and chocks, and a variety of other items in and around the cockpit and poop deck. I also removed the chainplates. |
Still ahead remained the removal of the ports, deadlights, and genoa tracks, after which the deck stripping would be complete. The decks require much prep work, sanding, and repair; the existing nonskid material is unknown, but is flaking off in several large areas. Removal ought to prove interesting. |
