I wrapped up the work on the new bulkheads by washing and lightly sanding the new tabbing I installed yesterday.  Then, I reopened the chainplate slots, working from above and simply drilling and reaming out the slots through the new tabbing material beneath; then, I marked and drilled the boltholes, using the chainplates as a guide.

While I was inside, and before cleaning up from the sanding, I removed part of the saloon liner from the starboard side--the section that had originally extended into the nook created by the now-removed after bulkhead on that side.  I wanted to make the end of the liner even across the boat, to make future transition to the forward section easier, so I made some measurements, struck a line across the liner, and cut off the excess portion with a grinder and cutoff wheel.  The small section of liner came off easily, and I lightly sanded the area beneath to prepare it for any later steps during the interior finishing and joinery stage.

With the major decisions in the cockpit now complete, I moved forward with some of the preparation work that I'd delayed earlier.  I sanded off the remaining nonskid from the poop deck, sanded the remaining surfaces as needed to match the adjacent deck preparation, and reamed out bolt holes to ready for filling.  I also ground out  some minor cracking, and ground tapered areas in the fiberglass around the larger holes that I'd need to fill and patch with fiberglass, including the two cowl vent openings in the deck and the large vertical access opening on the aft wall of the cockpit, since we planned to install a top access to the lazarette later.  Filling, repair, and fairing of these areas would occupy much of the work list for next week, but for now this wrapped up the work for the day, and for the week.
