With much of the morning taken up with commitments on another boat at the shop, I had mainly the afternoon to accomplish things on the work list.

The project has come down mainly to odds and ends and final details.  First on my task list was to create the openings in the back side of the dodger rope track to allow the short innermost section, inboard of the halyard pass-through, to be installed.  This was easier than I'd originally thought it might be using a drum sander to create the curved openings.

Earlier, I'd ordered a bearing for the top of the rudderpost.  It arrived during the afternoon, and I installed it.  Unfortunately, I discovered that I didn't have appropriate setscrews on hand--those that I had were just too long so that they protruded just enough from the fiberglass tube to inhibit passage of the collar that would cover the entire area.  I ordered new, shorter setscrews to finish the job.

Earlier in the week, I'd ordered winches for the boat, and with them on hand I decided to install them--a straightforward process on the bronze winch stands.

With a new piece of laminated safety glass cut to fit the broken forward port, I reinstalled the glass in this unit, and then cut and fitted gasket material into all the opening ports and reinstalled the six hinged inner units.

With the tiller mockup once again in place, I marked some possible locations (green tape) for the proposed 2-sided mainsheet system.  Located well within the outline of the nearby lazarette hatch, this location would keep the side portions of the aft deck clear for lounging.

Finally, I sanded, cleaned up, and revarnished the cabin sole, as well as additional varnish on the anchor platform and other pieces currently underway.

Total Time Billed on This Job Today:  4.75 hours
