Circe
| Wednesday, February 3, 2010 I started the day by sanding yesterday's primer on the overhead to prepare it for the finish coats of paint. Afterwards, I vacuumed and solvent-washed as needed. A bit later in the day, I applied the first of at least two coats of semi-gloss white enamel to the overhead. The paint might appear glossier in these photos because it was still wet at the time the photos were taken. |
After sanding the overhead, but before I painted, I finished up the installation of the stern pulpit, bedding it well in sealant and securing it with 18 bolts. I cleaned up the excess sealant, completing the job. |

I sanded the engine box components/companionway ladder, and removable settee fiddle pieces to prepare them for additional varnish, and then applied another build coat of varnish. I also took the opportunity to mask off the two deck hatch frames on the coachroof so I could apply another coat or two of varnish. |
