Bolero Project | Wednesday, July 30, 2008

With the major construction work complete, I was reduced to attending to a few details as I continued to scratch items off the punch list.

To begin, I installed the now-varnished companionway hatch and its interior trim pieces, and double-checked the fit of the swash boards.  I ordered a hasp to secure the companionway.

With their paint complete, I installed the various hatch covers in the v-berth.

I removed the tape and cleaned up some excess sealant on the hull edges around the cabin sole, completing its installation.

I epoxied the triangular cockpit fiddle gussets in place--an entirely unremarkable task.  Then, I applied a third coat of bottom paint, completing that job except for touch-up beneath the forwardmost pads, which I'd lower and paint beneath tomorrow.

I was still awaiting some materials to complete a couple of remaining jobs, so I had to refrain at this point from calling the project complete, even though it really is.

Total Time on This Job Today:  2 hours
