With the hull paint past its minimal cure time for overtaping, I moved forward with preparations for the boottop, starting with a strip of vinyl fine-line tape at the top edge of the stripe, which would help provide the cleanest possible paint line.  Over this, I installed a layer of regular masking tape, mostly covering the vinyl, the proceeded to cover the entire topsides with plastic and more masking paper to protect against overspray.

After final preparations--solvent wash, tack-off, and paint mixing--I applied three coats of snow white gloss topcoat to the boottop over the remainder of the morning, leaving it to cure overnight.
