With just a short sanding session, the taffrail finished up smooth and fair, and looked clean and simple.  After cleaning up the area, as well as the cockpit, I spot-applied the gray fine epoxy filler where needed, the last areas of the deck to receive the filler.

I spent most of the day working in the cabin, masking off the areas beneath the overhead.  I chose to do this now while the boat was clean, and to protect the existing and finished surfaces of the cabin from the work ahead, as well as to minimize dust migration from the overhead and other future sanding.  I also wanted to complete all the major sanding on the boat before I began any new finishes.   I made my way though the main cabin and most of the forward cabin by the end of the day, leaving just a part of the forward cabin to complete.
