Waanderlust Project--Phase III | Tuesday, October 4, 2011

Over the weekend and on Monday, I finished up the varnish work on the toerails and companionway trim (in the sense that varnish work is ever finished).  With that work complete, I'd neared the end of this phase of work on the job, with only a few details remaining before I moved the boat outdoors for storage till the next stage sometime in the spring.

I removed the masking tape and protective paper from the deck areas.

There were a few details remaining in the cabin, including hanging the locker door on the galley, now that its varnish work was complete.

I still had a bit of work on a couple items currently being painted:  the companionway hatch, and a small shelf for the drawer unit on the starboard side of the cabin.  Earlier, I'd primed these panels, and now applied one coat of finish paint.  I'd have these items wrapped up before the end of the week, at which time I'd install them.

To wrap up the day's work, I dismantled staging and cleaned up tools and the like from the boat.

Total Time Billed on This Job Today:  5.25 hours (spread over two days)
