Snow Lily | Tuesday, March 26, 2013 To continue the wiring work, I began by installing the door, which contained the main service panels and other devices, for the electrical locker. I added two roller catches to keep the door closed. |
I spent a large part of the day completing the positive and main panel wiring to the 12-volt, 24-volt, and 110-volt AC panels located in the door, along with associated accessories. In order to install the little alarm speaker from the propulsion system, I found I had to carefully chisel away part of the back side of the panel to partially recess the unit, since the buzzer was meant to fit in a thin panel only and didn't have enough thread length for the 1/2" thick plywood. I kept the wiring for each panel separate, and left ample slack in the bundles so the door could be easily opened wide for servicing all components within the locker. |

In the head, I installed a small junction box to contain the connections for the mast wiring, then made up the wire ends to a terminal block within, along with a connection for the VHF antenna. |
|
Later in the afternoon, with additional wiring supplies now on hand, I installed two negative distribution busses, one each for the 12-volt an 24-volt system, then spent the remainder of the day completing the negative wiring for the 12-volt system. |
