There was plenty of sanding ahead, between the new fiberglass patches over the through hull openings inside and out, the recore repair in the head and forward cabin, and the various deck and hull-deck joint areas I'd filled last time.  I spent the morning on this task, cleaning up thoroughly afterwards.

After various discussions and due consideration, the owner elected to replace all the ports and deadlights with new stainless steel opening ports.  The large ports that would replace the deadlights in the main cabin would eventually require that the existing openings be slightly enlarged, while the sizing of the ports specified to replace the four forward ports and deadlights would require the existing openings be made smaller.  To this end, I planned to fill in the existing openings, after which we could cut the openings for the new ports as needed.

To streamline the repair (i.e. filling in) of the forward openings, I glued the molded fiberglass interior headliner to the cabin trunk itself, using epoxy adhesive and clamping the areas together through the openings.

Later, I applied a second round of fairing filler to the deck areas as required, as well as the hull-deck joint, then applied a first coat to all the exterior patches over the through hulls and other holes.
