August 28, 2007 I had hoped to start the wiring today, and spent part of the morning moving the related supplies up to the boat, setting up a wire reel, and preparing for the work. But I soon realized that I needed to work on the final mounting for the electrical panel in the boat, so that I wouldn't have wires in the way and so that I could plan for the mounting of various ancillary items (buss bars, terminal blocks, and the like) beforehand. So I worked on that instead, and several other related tasks that don't bear description here. Just getting the supplies and tools organized took much of the morning. |
I planned an early end to the day to get out on the water for my designated weekly sail, so after lunch I worked on the cabin sole, sanding the epoxy that I'd applied yesterday and then preparing the sole for the first coat of varnish. Then, I applied the first of several coats of varnish to the sole and hatches. |
I wrapped up the day with some more project planning to organize the punch list for the remaining jobs at hand, and to prepare additional purchase lists. |
