With all the prep work complete, I masked off the deck and bottom, and covered the decks, bottom, and trailer with plastic to prevent damage from overspray.  Then, I applied the necessary coats of Awlgrip 545 primer.  Getting the feel for the HVLP spray gun, I chose to apply light coats of primer, and ended up with a total of five coats for full coverage.
