1975 Dufour 27 Refit | Monday, November 10, 2008

First thing, I taped off the newly-painted deck edge and installed protective plastic sheeting over the deck, taping it securely in place.  The waterline was already taped and papered from my initial pre-paint preparations a couple weeks ago.

Next, I broke down the deck-height staging, removed the excess pieces, and set up the normal staging at the right height for hull work.  Then, I washed down the shop floor to settle any dust (the shop was still clean from last week's deck topcoats, however).  I wrapped up the preparations by solvent-washing the hull and, when the solvent was try, tacking off.

With the preparations complete, I mixed up the high build primer for the job, and, over a couple hours' elapsed time, spray applied three coats of primer.
