Rookie (formerly Circe) | Saturday, May 29, 2010

With transportation to the launching boatyard scheduled for Friday, June 4, I had a few details to attend to in order to prepare.

First and foremost, I had to load the mast on deck and rig it.  To that end, I moved the boat around to the gantry crane and lifted the mast carefully on deck.

After returning the boat to her original position on stands, I installed the new standing rigging.  I also installed a radar reflector ordered by the owner, then tied up the rigging for travel.  I'd wait on the final mast lashings till just before the boat departed.

I prepared a few old lines to use as temporary fender lines and docklines for the boat's launching.

Finally, I gave the deck and hull a bath.
