After cleaning up and putting away the spray equipment for now, I removed all the masking tape, paper, and plastic from the boat, and reconfigured the shop back to "work" mode after a week of "painting" mode.

The paint was too fresh to continue work on the decks--masking for nonskid--so I busied myself with various other tasks in the meantime.  I masked as needed around some of the new cherry panels that I'd installed just before beginning the deck paint process, prepared them for varnish, and applied a sealer coat of varnish to these areas, beginning the build-up process with the goal of catching them up with the remaining portions of the interior as soon as possible.  This included the upper head cabinets, the new cherry facing on the aft head bulkhead, the galley upper cabinet, and the front and side of the engine box.

I also applied the 5th coat of varnish to the second side of the coamings.

Some time ago, I'd ordered brushed stainless steel sheeting to cover the inside of the galley stove enclosure; now, I began to install the various pieces.  I'd ordered the pieces more or less cut to the proper size, other than the two large side panels, which would require custom cuts and careful templating because of the various angles involved.

Unfortunately, I found that the panels were all slightly oversize, so I had to trim an edge on each of the four pieces I installed during the remainder of the afternoon.  I applied the four smaller pieces to the bottom and back sides of the enclosure, using stainless steel screws to hold the sheeting in place since I wasn't sure adhesive would hold up adequately.  The sheets featured a white vinyl protective layer on their surfaces, which I left in place for now pending completion of the installation.

I left the two side panels for another day.

Tomorrow, I'd begin the nonskid application, as the deck paint would be sufficiently cured to allow overtaping.
