Blue Teal | Wednesday, August 7, 2013

First thing in the morning, I finished up the last pieces of cork on the underside of the decks in the forward cabin.  Final work on the upper portions of the space--the cabin trunk--would have to wait for another time.

I continued final cleanup and other preparations while awaiting the owner's arrival to help with the deadlights' installation.  With newly powder-coated aluminum frames and new 3/8" acrylic, we worked to install the lights and frames with new bolts, taking a couple hours to complete the job.  The additional holes around the frames are for a storm shutter system, and we later covered these with gasketed fasteners that the owner had prepared.

Afterwards, I spent the rest of the day working with the owner to complete various sundry tasks required to prepare the boat for her departure and launch the next day, including a few minor sealing jobs and loading the mast on deck for transport.

Total Time on This Job Today:  7.5 hours
