Another Friday the 13th, another Friday spent preparing for paint, more colder-than-normal air in place, and another snowstorm on the way for the weekend.  Not much changes here in Whitefield, Maine during the winter, it seems.

Now that the deck paint was complete, it was time to finish up the hull work.  To begin, while the staging was still at deck height, I covered the decks with plastic, taping it securely at the gunwale.

After lowering the staging for hull work, I finished up the final hull preparations, with some minor touch-up sanding and then thorough cleaning with two rounds of solvent wash:  the first using normal thinner, which got rid of most surface dust; the second with the proprietary solvent from the paint system, which I used more to ensure the most contaminant-free surface, both from surface dust and any potential impurities from the regular solvent.  I set up additional lighting, prepared paint and spray equipment, and generally got things ready for the pending finish primer.
