Aphelion Refit | July 11, 2007

Today, I sanded the primer to prepare for topcoats.  There's nothing exciting to report:  I began with 220 grit paper on my vibrating sander, to break the surface and begin to flatten the paint surface, and then finished with finer sandpaper by hand, both on a flexible block and without.

Once the sanding was complete, I vacuumed off the boat, staging, and floor, blew the dust off the plastic, and washed down the staging and floor with water.   Then, I solvent washed the hull to remove most of the remaining dust; I'd do a final solvent wash immediately before painting tomorrow.
