Waanderlust Project | Wednesday, September 22, 2010

I masked off the top edge of the boottop, then installed sheet plastic over the remainder of the hull, covering it completely from deck to boottop.  Because I don't trust plastic to be 100% hole-free, I next applied a layer of masking paper adjacent to the boottop as a safeguard at the most critical area.

With the masking complete, I prepped the boottop area with solvent and tack cloth, then applied four coats of aristo blue paint modified, as elsewhere, with flattening agent to reduce the gloss to a satin sheen.  I left the paint to cure the remainder of the day and overnight.
