Snow Lily | Monday, December 3, 2012

To begin, I sanded the fresh hull primer using 320 grit by machine and hand.  With the sanding complete, I cleaned up the hull and shop as needed to prepare for the next steps.

Next, I struck a new line on the hull to demark the top edge of the boottop, or the bottom edge of the hull paint.  With the hull still level, I struck this line the same way I'd done the waterline some months earlier, choosing a visual height of three inches for the boottop.

Afterwards, I masked off the area beneath the new line; I'd paint the boottop separately when the hull was done.  Then, I made final preparations, including final solvent wash and other cleaning, and preparing materials and spray equipment.
