I continued the varnish process today:  sand, clean, varnish.  I seems I have run out of interesting ways to phrase it (if indeed any of the previous phraseology was interesting...).

In between sanding and varnishing sessions, I spent a little more time in the cabin contemplating the cabin sole.  First, I sponged out another gallon or so of water that had run down from a forward compartment since last Friday's initial cleanout.  Then, I pried away a bit more of the veneer on one side to see how the sole's substrate was secured on that side (starboard), so as to better make plans for how to ultimately proceed with the repair and replacement as soon as the brightwork was complete, which I anticipated in another day or so.  Later in the day, I discussed with the owner a few options for the new sole.
