I had little time available today to dedicate to this particular project, but I managed to sand the patches of Alexseal fairing compound that I applied last Friday.  I expected this to be the final application of fairing compound for the moment, as I planned for several coats of high build primer to help highlight any areas that might require additional fairing or filling.

In these first three photos, it's possible to see the small porosity in the epoxy (reddish) fairing compound that the Alexseal fairing compound, being smoother and finer, filled during this application.  These small filled areas show up as tiny gray specs within the larger epoxy patches.

At this point, I left the sanding at 120 grit, since I needed to apply plain resin over the tops of the patched and filled areas, and would sand the decks with finer grits after that application.

After vacuuming up the sanding dust and cleaning with acetone, I applied a coat of epoxy resin to each patch.  I thinned the epoxy slightly to help it flow out more effectively.  I left the resin to cure overnight before continuing.
