It was a short work day of odds and ends.

To begin, I finished installing the scupper hoses:  new hose that I needed had arrived.  The new corrugated, wire-reinforced hose bent easily to the shape I needed with no distortion.

With a chisel and sandpaper, I shaved flush the bungs on the new chainplate lockers, and prepared the fronts for sealer varnish, which I applied late in the day.

I lightly sanded the icebox and applied a third coat of the semi-gloss white paint.

I carefully protected the oaken mast beam with masking tape and plastic, covered the top surface with thickened epoxy, and pressed the beam into position, squeezing the epoxy into the various undulations of the overhead so that the mast beam would fit snugly and be well supportive.  The plastic would prevent the epoxy from sticking to the beam.  I clamped it securely into position and left it to cure.
