After a morning meeting, I got back to work on the engine foundations.  I removed the braces and cleats, and restrung the centering string so I could check the fit of the engine template on the new foundations.  The fit was good

I applied heavy epoxy fillets around all sides of each foundation, to fill the spaces between the bottom edge of the foundations and the hull , to spread the loads, and to create smooth transitions for the upcoming fiberglass tabbing.  then, I coated all the raw plywood with epoxy resin.

I cut three layers of 1708 cloth for each face of the foundations, extending the material well on to the hull in each direction.  Then, I wet out and installed all the material.  I'd hoped in the same operation to also install fiberglass over the foundation tops and ends, but with the slight overlaps and uneven edges of the structural tabbing, I decided it'd be better to wait and apply the remaining fiberglass later, once the other material had cured.

I cut sections of 6" biaxial tabbing to fit the edges of the cabin sole, removing material in way of the wide cockpit hatches as needed, and then wet out and installed the tabbing to wrap up the substrate installation.  The sole's finished surface would come a little later.
