Bolero Project | Sunday July 13, 2008

I removed all the tape, plastic, and paper, and then applied two coats of white ePaint HP-ZO antifouling paint to the bottom--using all the product I had on hand, though the bottom needed a third coat for coverage over the disgusting Baltoplate brown and, according to the manufacturer's instructions, for the optimum antifouling capacity.  So I made plans to order more paint and apply the final coat later.

In any event, the bottom paint made a significant change to the appearance of the boat and, since she hadn't been outdoors for a photo opportunity since I completed the boot stripes last week, I felt it was a worthy opportunity to bring her out for another look.

Enjoy.

Afterwards, I returned Bolero to the shop and rebuilt the staging around her again so that I could complete the remaining work on deck, cockpit, and interior as needed.  Much remained to do, but it was nice to have her painted and looking pretty, with the last vestiges of her unattractive previous paint job finally hidden forever.
