Triton #680 | Monday, September 8, 2008

After a final wipe-down with a tack rag, the boat was ready for her final coats of Alexseal snow white paint on select deck areas.  After mixing up a quantity of paint sufficient for the job, and making other final preparations, I applied three coats of paint to the deck over the course of the morning and early afternoon.

Because of access issues, I applied the paint in three separate stages:  first, the forward hatch surround and mast step, along with the cockpit foot well; next, the cabin trunk and outer portions of the cockpit seating areas, including the coamings; finally, the gunwales and channels.  I waited approximately 30 minutes between coats.

Total elapsed time:  6.5 hours
